Jesus In His Own Words – Sermon Series Starts Aug 20

It’s hard to know famous people.  We might think we know them, because we’ve caught glimpses of their lives in the news or online.  But most of the time our knowledge of famous people is second-hand.  We hear about their lives through the reports of other people.  Jesus is one of the most famous people who ever lived.  And you might think you know Jesus—after all, many people have written about his life and claimed to speak for him.  But are you sure you know the real Jesus?  As he would want to be known?

There’s one fascinating place in the Bible where Jesus introduces himself on his own terms.  He introduces himself to us with the phrase, I am:”  “I am the bread of life;”  “I am the light of the world;”  “I am the resurrection and the life.”  There are several such “I am” statements, and we are going to explore them in a six-week sermon series that starts Sunday, August 20th at 10:30 a.m.  Please join us for any Sunday and get to know Jesus—as he would want to be known.  You might be surprised at what you discover.
