Worship Style

Worship has changed dramatically in recent years.  Given the deep changes in worship happening all across the country, what might you expect here at Ada First Presbyterian?  Our service is a blended service—we sing the best of today’s contemporary songs along with the hymns that have fed the church’s life for centuries.  We try to balance our experience of the new with a sense of connectedness to the past.  We use a mixture of pianists, organists, and musicians to lead us in worship.

Sunday WorshipYou will also find all ages gathered in worship.  We encourage children to stay in the service in order to adopt patterns of life-long worship.  (Children are given training for worship participation in our Logos program during worship skills time on Wednesday nights.)  We do have a nursery for your convenience, and you are also welcome to send your children (up to about kindergarten age) to it.

The important thing is that you join us for worship.  You will find a mix of styles and levels of dress, and we want you here in God’s house, just as you are.  We want you to encounter his word and be nourished by a connection to the whole family of God on the day that Jesus rose from the dead—Sunday.
